Photo-lab

I got up around 11 this morning and kinda bummed around, took a shower, worked on my paper for Philosophy of Service, straightened my hair, got my stuff together to go to my lab, checked email and all that important stuff, before heading down to the lobby to meet Ji Sun a little before 2 to go for our labs.

The lab was supposed to start at 2:00 and end at 6:00 but that didn't happen! We got there and got our chemicals and everything that we needed (I didn't have as much trouble with the water as I did before). I developed my negatives and had them hung to dry and realized I didn't have any neg. files with me and JiSun said that I could use one of hers but she had gone to get something to eat while the negs were drying. So I sat there and waited, and waited, and read thru the directions, and waited, and set everything up, and waited, finally I desided that I should stop waisting time and go get my own neg files. On my way to the dorm I saw JiSun coming out of the cafe but I desided to get mine anyway. Not all my pictures on the negs came out (including all the ones I really wanted!) so I was kinda bummed about that. But I did get the negatives developed pretty much hassle free. The actual prints were a completely different story. I ended up having to do 2 check sheets because the timer connected to the light started doing weird stuff and making the light go on when it shouldn't have been so the first one I had no idea the time for it and then the other timer wouldn't do seconds the whole time I was there. I had everything set to go and wasn't sure how I was supposed to know if it was focused because I didn't get to see how the thingy worked in class so I went to get help and the assisstant opened the f thing up the whole way so it was brighter and I forgot to close it back down to 8 and ruined a piece of paper with that. Then the print was a little bit dark and had a very narrow line across part of it so I decided to do another one. By this time it's already after 6 and I was supposed to meet my family group at that time to go for supper at Kristin's house. So I called and said that I was going to be late because of lab and that I was really sorry and felt bad. She said it wasn't a problem they would just wait. So I proceeded on to my second print... I switched the f thing back to as open as it would go and once again forgot to turn it back down to 8... first something was showing up when I stuck it into the developer and then it got darker and darker and I realized I was an idiot and did the same thing AGAIN! So here goes try number 2 for this print... the print came out but has the same line on it and doesn't seem to be very focused... So I don't know which one to turn in on Thursday. I'm hoping to scan them in sometime tomorrow and put them up here. Anyways I got out of there a few minutes of 7 and everybody was still waiting. I felt so bad. But supper was REALLY good!!!!!!!!!! It was so nice to get away for a little bit and have a good home cooked meal!

Well, it's getting kinda late and I should be heading to bed... I actually have to get up for classes in the morning... but I already don't want to... I don't feel like I had much down time this weekend even on Sabbath because I was gone from 3 til about 6:30 or so on Outreach stuff with a bunch of "off the wall" kids in Benton Harbor. But it was a good experience for the most part and I got to meet some other students from here too.
