Yesterday was my first day babysitting two little boys: Ryder- age: almost 5 and Adler- age: almost 3. They are cute little boys with really curly hair.
I met them on Sunday. I spent about 2 hours at their house... well, at least 1/2 the time at the little play ground. They are both characters! Adler copies EVERYTHING Ryder does; he says everything Ryder says, follows him all over the house, and wants everything he wants.
Yesterday they had me going up and down all day (my new work-out routine I suppose). The morning they were both pretty quite but continued to warm up as the day went on. They had me playing games that, as with all 4 year-olds, the rules were made up as we went, getting them things, talking them out of watching movies such as Men in Black II and something else with a lot of language and stuff too old for them in it, I also got to deal with them saying nasty words and telling them that that's not a nice word and not to say it and telling them to stop kicking or hitting or pinching.
But the biggest part of the day came towards the end. Adler is in pull-ups (can you see where this is going?) I've never changed a poopy diaper before. Sometime after lunch I began smelling nastiness and asked him if I could change him... of course he said no but I finally did get him changed. Not a half hour later I smelt it again and we went through the same thing but this time he would not let me change him for anything! He finally said "I have to pee!" and went screaming from his room to the bathroom and shut the door then Ryder comes running from the other direction screaming the same thing and ran into the bathroom too... I took a couple steps down the hall and hear Ryder say "Don't come down here we're both peeing!" So I took a couple more steps down the hall and then I heard "EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW EEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW COME HERE!!!!!!!!!! COME HERE!!!!!!" So turned the corner, the bathroom is wide open, Adler is standing on the stool facing the toilet with his pants and diaper to his ankles and Ryder holding his shirt up his back and Ryder was still screaming "EEEEEWWWWW EWWWW!!!! ADLER POOPED!!!!!!!" I'll save you the rest of the details... I left a few hours later and that sums up my first day watching the boys.
Today wasn't near as bad. Their mom was home all day not feeling well. The boys seemed to be a bit better behaved today. I didn't have to speak to them about things as much so I just needed to try to keep them quiet. We went to the park and watched a movie and played some video games. I don't think Adler was feeling well and he actually napped today and Ryder was quite quiet then too so it was more relaxing and easier today.
Stay tuned for some more stories...
