End of the Farming Week

As the week progressed Ivy got harder and harder to get off the milking stand. For instance, last night I was done milking her and it took a few minutes to get her head out of the hole. I then tried to get her off the stand for well over five minutes... it was probably closer to ten. I tried leaning into her, sitting on the stool so she wouldn't and pulling on her collar, tried to move her front legs (which didn't budge), waving some hay in front of her nose, and a combination of a few of these. However, nothing seemed to work. I think she finally decided that it was getting boring standing on the stand not able to go anywhere and got down. She stood next to the stall long enough to let Alice run out again but I caught her without a problem and showed her back to the stall. It took me a little under 45 minutes to milk I think.

Sabbath we hung around the house (Andrew and Kim were home from Thursday night to Sabbath afternoon and back again last night around 11). The assistant guys dean at the academy's wedding was supposed to be at 2 but I didn't think I would be going. I listened to a sermon I had downloaded relaxed until my phone rang around 3. At first I wasn't sure who it was but thought it might be DeeDee. The voice on the other end said "are you coming to Nkarlo's wedding?" I replied that I didn't know but didn't think so (I didn't know what time it was supposed to start). She said "What do you mean you don't know??? Girl you better get your butt here I want to see you!" By this time I knew it was DeeDee and I said that I needed to change and brush my teeth and I'd be there. She said not to worry it wouldn't be started by the time I got there. By the time I got there about 45 minutes later there was nobody to be seen outside the church and I could see people sitting inside. I figured that it had indeed already started. I went in and nothing was happening. Michael, Adri, and DeeDee motioned me over to sit with them. The wedding started about 15 minutes later at 4 and the bride didn't walk down the isle until 4:10. It was a different wedding but quite nice!

Sunday I got up, did chores, showered, ate, and went to the mall and walmart for a bit. It was hot and muggy. By the time I got out of walmart the sky was getting quite dark and I figured I would run into some rain on the way home. And sure enough, by the time I hit Weedsport it was pouring! By the time I got home, it was barely sprinkling. I came inside and thought it was a bit darker but didn't think much of it until I went to go upstairs and it was pitch black. The power was out for 2 hours after I got back. I read for a while and started to fall asleep when the power came back on and woke me up.

Anyways, that sums up my weekend.
