Work

So, I realized after I posted my last blog I realized that I hadn't posted anything about getting a job; so here's what happened...

Andrew, Kim, and I went in to Burritt's a couple weeks ago and Sherry called me over and asked if I was still looking for a job. I said yes and she said that she'd send Steve and Darryl out to interview me. So I talked with Steve and then Darryl came over and asked me a couple questions then Sherry asked me if I could come back in a few hours to do a 4 hour trial. I did and they hired me.

I've been working afternoons/evenings after school and almost all day on Sundays. Thursdays through Sundays they have a bunch of different kinds of bands come in and play for a few hours. This past Thursday we had a guy play piano and another guy play bass. They were pretty good... and played the Charlie Brown song before they left (I thought it was pretty cool).

Its a pretty fun place to work. Steve and Darryl pick on Sherry, Sherry picks on Steve, Steve picks on me and Sherry's always checking to see how I'm holding up (Darryl and Steve ask me sometimes too) and Darryl tells Sherry not to worry about me because I can take care of myself. The second day I worked there I asked Steve where some dishes went and he said "Come on Victoria! You've been here what... two days? You should know where everything goes by now." And then told me he was just kidding. Yesterday he went to the basement for something and came back up and said that O.W. was down there smoking a cigar (O.W. is the guy the shop is named for) then asked me if I knew the place is haunted (I laughed because I knew from a previous conversation with him that he doesn't believe in that stuff). Then him and Darryl started joking about it... Darryl asked what he told Steve. Steve said that he told him that he didn't like his smart remarks and Darryl said O.W. probably told him to be nice to Sherry too.

Anyways... it can make for some tiring days but it's fun and gets me a paycheck :)
