Week Thirteen... I Think

I won't bore you with all the details from the past few weeks. Partly because I don't think I can remember what all happened other then Spring Break. So, I'll fill you in on the biggest news that happened this past week.

It all started on Thursday. I went in to the office and got to work. Tiffany was finally there and somehow we got to talking about the summer. I mentioned to her that I was still waiting to hear anything from the other two summer camps I had applied to well over a month ago. I really wanted to hear something because I'd already been rejected by two camps and I wanted to be able to start figuring out what to do for the summer if I wasn't going to a camp.

About an hour later I left for chapel. The song service was finished and the speaker was just starting to do her thing when my phone started buzzing. I pulled it out of my pocket expecting to see a text message but it was actually a call from some weird 9-something-something area code. I thought it was odd but had had another odd number call a couple weeks earlier and didn't leave a message... guessing it was a wrong number. To my shock the person left me a voicemail. I was eager to check it and couldn't wait for chapel to be over. As soon as I swiped out and began leaving I whipped my phone out and listened to the message. I wasn't sure if I had heard right and listened again. Even more shocked I called my mom and told her what had happened. I waited all through class wishing we'd get out early.

Leaving class, I called the number back and talked to a guy named Jeff from MINNESOTA!!! He's the director of North Star Camp (a camp I didn't even know existed) and after almost a half hour on the phone with him I felt confident that this is where I should be for the summer. It sounded like he offered me the job and I accepted it. He said he'd have his secretary email me some information and a contract to sign and return right away.

Come to find out, Jeff taught photography and videography here at AU. Which could be a good thing since that's what he's hired me to do and since I don't have much video experience he said he could teach me. I'm so excited. Another great thing is camp only goes for 6 weeks including staff week! So if I decide to take a May Express class I can and still have time before heading to camp. Another great thing is I'll be able to see everyone at some point before school starts I think. YAY!
