Welcome to MI, where it snows all day and might snow some during the night but not enough for Andrews to close. A couple weekends ago we got a couple feet of snow on Sunday... they closed campus which meant I didn't get to do my photo lab. That week we had a snow day on Tuesday... what a blessing! It was my "early day" and I didn't have to go to any class... just bumm around all day although I did work on a few things. Since then it's been snow, snow, snow, and did I mention it's been snowing? Yesterday all the schools around here were closed... a bunch of them even closed or delayed the night BEFORE! But did Andrews or Andrews Academy close? Nooooo....!
Since the darkrooms were closed down for two days in one week, Marc, our professor, has given us a lot of slack. Tomorrow it's all due... all three assignments if they aren't already turned in. I went to the darkrooms on Friday for 3-4 hours and again Sunday from about 2:00 until 4:00 and then went to a meeting and grabbed some food and went back to the darkrooms from a little before 6:00 until about 9:00 or so. I wasn't able to go yesterday because of Wind Symphony and I REALLY wanted to go to worship so I didn't go. I went this afternoon from about 3:30 until 6:00 or 6:30 then I left and got some supper and sat down for a bit and went back around 7... would you believe that EVERY darkroom was being occupied????????? So I left after talking to the lab asisstant and deciding to go back in about an hour. I decided that instead of walking all the way over there just for a CHANCE of getting in I'd call first. To my utter surprise... there was ONE room free (even though it was a room I've never used before and supposed to be for Intro students) I asked her to hold it for me. I was there for another 2-3 hours tonight and finally cranked out my last 3 prints (I only need 2). They are over there drying right now and I'll have to go over and mount all 6 of them tomorrow morning before my classes. Thank goodness my first class isn't until 11:30!
So this is the story of my life right now... at least as far as snow and photography go. :)
