This week has been....

This week has been a very interesting week to say the least.

Monday and Tuesday were regular days with normal, somewhat boring classes and work. Tuesday evening was filled with taking photos. All thanks to Brittany, Danae, and Hannah I got the assignment done and in on time. The assignment: Motion. I was waiting for Danae to go out and shoot with me and wanted to get at least one of the two rolls shot before that so I tried putting some water in a vase (actually what the beta fish is in) and drop little clumps of kool-aid in it to see the swirls as it dissolved and sank. It didn't work. So Brittany helped me in dropping ice cubes into the red liquid. This would have created a splash if I would have hit the button at the right time... Then we tried pouring some laundry soap into the vase to see if that would show the swirl but we couldn't see it and quickly gave up with that when Brittany thought of the brilliant idea of blowing bubbles. Now blowing bubbles was truly a great idea but we didn't have any bubble solution nor did we have a wand to blow them off of. So... Brittany, pulling out her chemistry skills, made a solution with some of the dish soap we have and used scissors for a wand. They actually came out pretty good. After that, Danae and Hannah went out into the woods with me (after dark) with 15 glow-sticks. I had them wave the sticks around so you could see the blur of colors. Unfortunately, I didn't have a long enough exposure and only TWO actually came out. Luckily I had shot a couple at the lake last Sabbath and I used two of them. Dave told me during critique (which went better then I expected) that one thing he's been noticing in several of my shots now that I really need to keep doing is that I notice light. I didn't even realize it! The one shot at the lake I realized when I was looking at the film that the lighting was cool but it made me feel good that I'm actually doing something good!

Wednesday is when things started getting interesting. My phone, which I use as my alarm clock, died during the night. Not only did my alarm not go off, I didn't hear Brittany get up, ready, or leave, and I didn't hear Jeong Min and Brianna knock on the door on their way to class. I slept thru my 8:30 class. I woke up about 20 minutes AFTER class had gotten out. Then at 3:30 we met and loaded the buses and headed to Chicago. It was my first time there and it was a LOT of fun. We went to see the Shakespeare play, Cymbeline. We had about 2 hours to wander around at the stores and get something to eat before the play. The play was GREAT! I would LOVE to go to another one! The cast was amazing and they didn't have elaborate props so you had to use your imagination. It was amazing! I would highly recommend going to one of these plays!!!

Thursday, after Bryan had said about there being a lot of work to do, called and told me that I didn't need to go to work! So I haven't worked since Wednesday (I usually don't work on Fridays).

Also on Thursday, I was talking to Paul and he asked if I had seen the paper yet. I said no and he told me to go get one. MY ARTICLE MADE IT IN!!! I wrote an article about the Wind Symphony concert, which was 2 weekends ago at least, and they didn't do much editing at all... just a couple grammar things! I didn't think that the article was all that good but Paul read it while we were talking and he said that it was GREAT and that I did a good job and stuff. I'm glad they thought it was good for all the trouble I had with Crazy Lady getting the process going.

Today I passed the paper editor and she asked if I had gotten paid yet (I get $10 for every picture and article I get published... I should have about $70 coming from events starting the second or third week of school). When I told her no she said that she has my ID number and was going to turn in some more things so I should get paid next pay period... I hope.

I'm glad that it's Sabbath. And I can relax and go to the CUC concert tomorrow afternoon and don't have any obligations.
