Great Ambitions

Sitting at work the other day I began looking through Josten's LookBook (a book with a bunch of layouts and covers from other schools) when ideas started to come to me. I thought of ways we could improve our yearbook at the academy and some things that other schools do that we could twist to suit us and make our book more fun. I'm anxious to meet with the team and get the ball rolling even before school starts (the editors will be here in a couple weeks).

I also started getting ideas of things I'd like to do with/for the students. One idea I got quite a while ago and I'm really excited to see if I can work with the dean to see if its feasible is a small group worship once a week or so. We did this at Andrews this past year... we had a minimum of 6 each week and we all took turns sharing a devotional thought and then shared any prayer requests that were on our hearts & minds and blessing we had received throughout the week. I'm hoping it will be as fun and relaxing for the academy girls as it was for us! And it's always nice to know that there are several people praying for you and your concerns and it feels good to be doing the same for someone else.

I had some other thoughts and ideas before too, but I didn't write them down right away and I've forgotten them. Hopefully they'll come back to me soon so I can finish my "Ambition List" (list of things I'd like to do or learn this school year) by the beginning of next month!

I've also started a book list! I got pretty excited looking up books and adding them to my list! I can't wait to start getting and reading them! This means I've got to get my butt in gear... I'm a slow reader and have a book I started a while ago and a book for my missions stuff (neither of which I've been reading faithfully) that I need to finish first. It'll be fun to see how many I can push myself to finish by the end of next summer. One of the books is 899 pages!!! Some others I think will be good for the small group thing I mentioned above. We'll see how it all goes :)
