One busy weekend

This past weekend happened to be quite a full couple of days. It all started on Thursday when I got a call from Kim (who was helping to set up at the county fair) that there was only one entry for the floral arrangement so if I wanted to go outside and grab a bunch of flowers for an arrangement I'd be guaranteed winning something. So, I ran outside in the rain and picked some flowers. While I was doing that Andrew got home and was ready to pick me up so we could go pick up the car from Syracuse. I finished the flowers as quickly as I could and then jumped in the van to Syracuse. I followed Andrew in the van to the fairgrounds and spent the rest of the evening there. Andrew, Kim, and I were the 3 lucky people who had to judge the baby show. We had to judge them on best smile, best eyes, best dressed, and cutest overall. There were supposed to be 4 classes (according to age and gender) but there were only 3 for the lack of girls. There were few enough kids that everyone went home with something. We did run home to do chores and then went back to watch some barrel racing.

Friday I slept in a bit and then got ready for Merribeth and Anthony's wedding. I met Raechel around 2:20 and rode to the wedding with her. The wedding and reception were beautiful and a lot of fun! Raechel and I sneaked out during the reception to run to Adri's house and grab the decorations we had used for the bridal shower to use on the get-away car for Merribeth and Anthony. We got a ton of the balloons and stuck them inside the car along with a couple "Just Married" signs and a few other things and then we used some garland stuff to wrap around the wipers. We went back into the reception and ate some amazing cheesecake and watched a bunch of the people dance and took a some pictures. They had a fireworks display around 10 which was really cool and then we went back inside while most of the people were leaving. We got to visit a while and we were the last people to leave (around 11:30).

Getting home around 1:30 from the wedding and knowing that the next day would be busy, I went straight to bed. I got up at 7 the next morning and did chores and then went back to bed for another hour or two. We spent the rest of the day at the fair helping wherever we could. Kim and I went down to sell some tickets where they were doing the 6-horse hitch and got to watch a bit of that while we were there. Later on we came back and did chores and picked up Ivy so they could do another milking demonstration (they did one on Friday evening too). When that was over we came back home for the night.

Sunday was the goat show. We got to the fair around 8:30 or so and got the goats checked in with the vet before sticking them in the stalls. The show started at 10 and the babies were in the first class. I showed Amelia, Kim showed Lilly, and Andrew had Ella. There were 6 in the class and Ella got 3rd. Surfer Girl, Caterina, Raizel, and Ivy all showed too. Raizel got 1st but she was the only one in the class and Ivy got 2nd in her class. We spent the rest of the day there hanging out with the goats and watching parts of the rest of the show.

And then Monday it was back to the grind going to work and doing chores.
