Its been a while since I posted so I'll try to include lots of what's going on without being too long... So here it goes:
April was SUPER busy! Andrew and Kim left the farm to me for a week two weeks before Alumni Weekend and Reception. The week was good even though I was late to work on every day that it matter for me to be there early! Tuesday we have faculty meeting at 7:30 and I still doing chores at that time and completely missed the entire meeting. I did however make it there in time to meet with my advisory and I even had muffins made for them! Thursday I'm supposed to teach class at 7:55 and I completely missed that too! My poor girls didn't have class all of 5th term for various reasons! Chores went pretty well the whole week. I ended up being able to get them done in under an hour and thought I was doing pretty good! I saw the fox one morning when I was going out to take care of the chickens. It started running away the closer I got and I watched it run up the pasture and into the bushes. And one night something (possibly the fox) scared me half to death when I took Sam out before bed. We were out there and all was quiet... until we walked a little further onto the lawn and something ran from under the tree. We both jumped!
The week after that was BUSY!!! The beginning of the week was fairly normal. As the week continued, I did some SA shopping... twice, and on Thursday night we were in the office until about 9:30 copying and stapling programs for Alumni Weekend. I took a bunch home and worked until about midnight when I ran out of the middle part of the programs. Friday I was the "go-to person" for the Alumni Association President since Andrew was at the golf tournament. I helped him with a couple things during the morning. I worked on the rest of the programs all morning and got them done during lunch time. I then started working on wrapping the boxes for the Deal or No Deal game we would be playing during reception. I only got 5 done and 2 almost done out of the 20 boxes. I then headed to Joe's for some lunch and did a few other things (one of which included telling the rest of SA how to wrap the boxes) before heading down to the church to help with Alumni Registration at 3.
Sabbath I slept in a little and when I got up I was greeted by Izzie at the bottom of the stairs saying "HI! HI! HI! HI!" :) I played with her a little, had some breakfast, and jumped in the shower before heading to church with Brent and Heather. I helped with registration through church and spent time with everybody Sabbath afternoon. After the Alumni Banquet, Choir Concert, Supper, and Business Meeting I helped Andrew lock up the building and headed home for what proved to be a short night.
The boys had decided that since we ran out of silver wrapping paper for the boxes and the blue wrapping Andrew picked up for us was transparent they would just wrap them all in duct tape but didn't finish them and most of the boxes didn't have any on the bottoms. Brent stayed up with me until 3:30 Sunday morning while I finished covering all the boxes with duct tape and then wrapped them all with the blue trasparent stuff so that they didn't look quite so... ghetto.
After getting about 4 or 5 hours of sleep I got up and thought I'd do some more SA stuff that needed to get done before going to set up at the place but didn't do it. I played with Izzie and talked with Heather before going to the cafe with them for some brunch. Soon after I was loading everything back into the van and picking up Jaymee to go to Geneva and set things up. We missed the place once and almost drove past it a second time but Jaymee yelled "THERE IT IS!!!!" just in time to turn the corner. We spent a good hour - hour and a half putting table clothes on the tables, putting vases and flowers on the tables, and figuring out seating arrangements. We left and got back leaving us about 2 hours to get ready. I had to wait for my housemate to get out of the bathroom and that left me a little over an hour to get ready and get over to the ad building to meet the rest of SA. We all went down to the Big M to meet the limos. Adam and I dropped off the kids, I came back to the house to find my shoes (which I didn't find and ended up borrowing a pair of one of the students) and got to the girls dorm before the limos got up there.
The rest of the evening when pretty well over all. We had some faculty back out at the last minute which screwed up some of our seating plans and made Mr. Baker mad because he didn't have any to sit with. We gave him a few options but he ended up sitting by himself most the time. I also mad some kids REALLY mad at me because I kicked them out of the bar area and back into the room that the banquet was being held. I think everyone had a pretty good time and enjoyed not having cafe food.
That week we had homeleave which was way to short. And this past week has been fairly back to normal finally. And I was off duty this weekend which has been a blessing! Got to go out with Adri, Raechel, Karolline, and Alexandria yesterday afternoon for some lunch and putt putt for Raechel's birthday. Then Karolline and I did $65.00 worth of grocery shopping and came back to the house just in time for the rain to start. We were both in bed by 10:15!!! It was lovely! Today we've slept in and had a tasty breakfast then spent a few hours outside in the beautiful weather (sunny with a breeze... can't get much better!) then came in and while Karolline showered I finished making a jello cake and made some macaroni salad. Then I showered and we've just been chilling the rest of the evening. We are leaving soon to meet Andrew and Kim for a movie. And tomorrow I have no plans other then getting more sleep :D
