So, I was home (in VT) for almost a month before heading back out to New York (USA) for Campmeeting. Before getting back to NY Andrew and Kim had invited me to stay with them and help around the farm again and goat-sit while they were gone for a couple weekends. It hadn't really been decided whether or not I'd be staying until sometime during the week of Campmeeting.
I got dropped off at the farm as soon as we got out here on Friday and was greeted only by the animals. I watched the farm for the weekend while Andrew and Kim were gone to a family reunion and Monday Kim drove me to meet Mom so I could go to campus. I was only on campus for a little bit before running off to the Waterloo Outlets to meet my friend Ashley who has been in Rochester visiting family for the past couple weeks. We spent a few hours there shopping and having lunch. Then I convinced her to come back to campus and I gave her a quick tour and introduced her to everybody before she had to leave.
The rest of the week was pretty uneventful. I just kinda hung out with the family and hunted down the hard drive I needed (my external hard drive crashed and Andrew called me on my birthday telling me that Randy was able to recover all my files and had put it on the Lacie hard drive and I could get them and transfer them onto my computer during campmeeting). It took me a couple days to get the hard drive and I still haven't transferred my files yet :P Anyways, Friday night and a little bit on Sabbath I got to hang out with a bunch of people I went to school with (and a few I didn't). It was pretty fun and nice to catch up a bit with some of them. (Oh... and I got burnt pretty bad. I'm still recovering)
Saturday night I came back to Andrew and Kim's and Sunday I helped show goats at the county fair. The show started around 10 and it went pretty fast. Sera got 1st in her class (she was the only one but the Judge said she could've taken it even if she was up against some other goats). They got a few other ribbons too but I can't remember who got which.
So now I'm still in NY. I've been helping with chores a little and trying to figure out my class schedule for next year (what a pain!!!). I'm watching the farm again this weekend and will more then likely have a few more babies to take care of. Ivy is getting ready to pop... and if you could see her you'd be wondering how she's expanded that far without popping!!!
And in other big news, I got a job today (thanks Kim!!!)! I start tomorrow (at 7:00) at Wyllie Fox Farm which is about 20 minutes or so from here. They have an organic veggie farm. I'll be planting, transplanting, picking, and whatever else at least 2 days a week through the end of the month. I might be getting more hours and be able to work into August too depending on how much help they need. Should be interesting :)
