First Week of School

I survived my first week of the semester. I've got a three day school week which is nice and I think as much as I could handle for as long as the classes are! Tuesdays and Thursdays I go in at 9. My first class is two hours, the next one is over an hour and the third one is about an hour and 40 minutes I think. I get out at 1:50. By the end of the second class I start to get a little bit antsy and by the end of the third class its all I can do not to run screaming from the building. And my Wednesday class is almost four hours!

The classes aren't bad though. I'm actually liking drawing more then I thought I would so far. The teacher is pretty cool and I think she remembers me. The girl that I sat next to on Thursday seems pretty cool and both us are pretty much in the same boat at least when it comes to drawing each other... we're not so good. Painting on the other hand... I'm not so sure about.

I think art supplies and textbooks should be free. I didn't buy any of my art before hand because I didn't know what I needed. I spent nearly $100 on art supplies the first time around and just spent another $30 something Thursday and I still don't have everything I need! Luckily I got at least two of the canvas stretchers I needed for free. I'm kinda hoping I can do 18x18 instead of 18x24 the whole time since I got four 18" (for free) instead of two 18" and two 24"

I'm still waiting on my Nutrition textbook to get here! I needed it on Tuesday but I hadn't ordered it until the Friday before. I guess that's what I get for deciding to get my books at the last minute. It was cheaper but I have no idea where it is! They're sending it regular mail with a tracking number. But the tracking thing is crap. They hardly ever update it and don't say where it is. Their website says that it usually takes 4-7 days and somewhere else I think it says 3-5 days. I'm hoping it gets here no later then Monday so I can read what I need to for next class.

Since I'm not going to school Mondays and Fridays I've been working. This week I worked 10:00 to 5:30ish on Monday, was scheduled for 4-Close on Thursday but we didn't have anybody coming in because of the weather so we closed around 5:30. And yesterday I was supposed to work 10-4 and we were dead again so they told me to leave an hour earlier. The extra time's kinda nice for me and my online class but not so nice for my paycheck!

Wednesday night I was helping with chores and nearly fell dumping a water bucket and tweaked my knee pretty bad. I didn't realize it was that bad... it was a bit stiff when I went to bed but the next day it hurt like crazy to straighten it or go and downstairs. It got a little better by the end of the day and hasn't been bothering me so bad anymore. The next night I did chores alone and the door was frozen again and I tweaked my back again trying to open it. Luckily it didn't bother me as bad as it did the week Andrew and Kim were gone!

This weekend is the first weekend in quite a while that I've had the entire weekend off! :) I got out at 3 yesterday and don't have to go in again until 10 Monday morning. Unless of course the other girl doesn't show up... I'm on call all weekend. But it still feels good to be able to relax a little and not be counting down how many hours I have until my freedom ends. :)
