Warm and Sunny Days

I've had a pretty enjoyable weekend this past weekend. My weekend actually started Thursday since that was the start of Spring Break at CCC. So I took my time getting ready and then went to the Academy to meet up with Nina and Damali.
We were planning on going to lunch in Syracuse and make a stop at the mall. Upon arriving they told me that there was a Passion Play practice that Damali didn't realize they had and had to be there for. So... we wait for THREE hours. We finally got out of there and headed to the mall. After our quick ventures there we went to a hibatchi grill for supper. It was my first time at one of those things and boy was it an adventure! The three of us ate for under $13 and we all left extremely full! They brought us out soup, salad, and our appetizers (Nina and I split some cucumber rolls and Damali had some spicy tuna ones or something) and then the guy came out and made some really tasty fried rice on the grill. Then came the entrees... we all ordered a veggie and tofu dish. They used super soft tofu and it was pretty gross. Damali started asking if she could order something else and that we were all a little confused about what we had ordered. Things were getting confused all over the place between us and the lady. So she kept apologizing about the mix up and ended up taking our meals off the tab completely! We ended up paying for ONE drink (each of us had one) and the rolls we had as appetizers! Its always interesting when I go out with the two of them!
Friday I met up with Nina and Damali again. We went to Parkers for lunch and then to Wegman's for a bit of grocery shopping before heading back to the academy to hang out for a little bit. I came back home around supper time. Grant and Hilary came over for supper and Andrew grilled. I was so excited it was nice enough to grill and eat on the porch! After we finished eating we all headed to the barn for chores and then came back in and visited for a while longer.
Sabbath, Andrew and Kim left for Erika's and I headed to church shortly after. After lunch Nina and I headed to the lake for a picnic lunch (man... seems like all Nina and I do is eat when we're together :P ) and Adam joined us when he finished lunch supervision in the cafe. Nina and I tested the water and as we expected it was pretty chilly. A day or two before there had been a Cold Water Advisory out. After getting our feet wet we laid in the shade for a while before I had to come home for part of chores. Kim from work came with her boyfriend and his two kids to see all the animals. Kim had been wanting to come for about 2-3 weeks and finally made it. They all seemed to enjoy it and the kids loved feeding the baby goats their bottles.
After I gave everybody half of their supper and refilled water buckets I headed back to the academy for Passion Play. I don't think I've ever been to a Passion Play that was so hot! The gym was super hot! I didn't stick around long afterwards and came back home to finish chores and relax a bit. Chores went horribly!!! I got my shoulder slammed into something, ALL the big goats got out, the babies wouldn't get back in, Ella still had grain but decided she'd kick anyway and landed her hoof in the pail and got milk EVERYWHERE including on me, I had left the bottles outside earlier so was running back and forth to fill them and then feed, the cows wouldn't let me get both buckets hooked in the pen so I ended up having to stand out there til he was done, and when I got back inside I managed to dump some more milk. :( I wasn't a very happy camper.
Luckily Sunday morning chores went much better. After chores were done and milk had finished pasturizing I threw in some laundry to later put on the line and then took my book and Sam to the porch to enjoy some sun. And enjoy we did... so much in fact I turned bright red and am still partly red today. I also managed to give myself a small chemical burn after I came inside. I think the chemical burn hurts worse then the sunburn!
I've enjoyed my weekend but am glad to have Andrew and Kim back home (mostly so I don't have to do chores alone ;) )
