The Zoo

I drive past a billboard for the zoo almost everyday until I finally couldn't stand it any more. I came home and told Andrew that I wanted to go to the zoo. He said he'd be up for it and we should ask Kim about going the next day.

We got up, did chores, had a little breakfast and headed to Syracuse. I can't remember the last time I've been to a zoo so it was pretty fun. The first thing we walked through was the farm building and the only things we didn't have one of at home was a donkey and a pig! We have the horses, goats, dog, cows, and chickens covered. We spent a little time looking at the two female elephants, some weird giant deer things, some llama-esk things that weren't really llamas, a bunch of different birds (saw a dead one too after searching for it and not seeing it... it was laying in the middle of the cage), 3 lions, a bunch of monkeys, and some reptile type animals. I'll hopefully post some pictures before too long (I've been so busy I haven't even looked at them yet!)

After the zoo we went out for lunch/supper and then to Barnes and Noble where I bought my new Nook! I was hoping to use it for school but I don't think I can get my textbooks on it. I still need to play around with it a bit to see if I can figure it out. I've downloaded a few other books on it and its really quite nice :)

Overall, it was a really nice, relaxing day that got us out of our regular routines :)
