Week One

I'm happy to report I've completed my first week back at AU without any more major incidents! I have a four day school week but I'm expecting I'll be working on Fridays once I land myself a job. I like my professors for the most part so far. I'm taking 5 class and one of them only meets once a week. I'm having to take about 4 surveys between two different classes this week. I'm taking a Business of Photography class which I think will be very helpful for me later on. I'm also taking Intro to Web Design which should come in pretty handy too... however I think that's the class that irritates me the most right now. I think it'll get better as the semester progresses and he gets more comfortable teaching and we have a better handle on what we're doing.

I got an email from Imaging Services saying they hired someone else and want to see how things run with who they have before hiring anyone else. So, I'm pretty sure I'm out of luck there. I also contacted the dairy again and they've filled all the shifts they needed with people who are already working there. She told me I could try again at the end of the month and see if they need anyone for February. That doesn't sound too promising either. So, Monday I'm going to talk to someone about at least a temp job in Student Success and then I might go in and tell my business of photo teacher that if he's still looking for someone to "model" for his photo classes I'd do it... at least it'd give me enough money for gas.

Tuesday I went into school for my 8:30am class. After class I hung out and read for a while in the campus center and ran into Silvia. We chatted for a while and it made waiting for my 12:30 class much more bearable! I walked home after class and was surprised to find out that it only took about 15 minutes! And that was with it snowing a bit and not walking very quickly :) Once the weather gets better I might do it more often! I'm hoping it'll be good enough weather to do it at least once a week for the next month or so since we have a 50,000 steps a week challenge for the Fit for Life class. Walking back and forth to/from campus should help me reach that weekly goal.

Anyways... I got my car back on Tuesday after classes. It's such a relief to have my own transportation again and not have to be a burden for everybody else!
Thursday after class I met up with Marissa and we went for a late lunch and then hung out at her place for a while. Got to see a lot of farms and stuff on the way to her place... I saw a place that had a sign saying there was farm land for rent or sale. If I had the money I would totally buy a little of it and bring my goat out to live there!

We're getting dumped on with snow since yesterday and I've opted not to leave the house today. We have at least 16 inches I think and there's no end in site. Kris said one of the roads we take to get to campus/church wasn't even plowed when they were trying to get to Sabbath School this morning. They made it but ended up coming right back home.

I think that's it for this week... maybe I'll be back later with some pictures of "my" room and all the snow!
