Week Two

I started working this week. I work four days a week... at least for now. I'm working with the tutoring section and then helping with whatever else I'm needed to do. So far I've helped weed through a bunch of files, run a couple on-campus errands, and gone through a few different lists. It's a pretty busy office but the people I'm working for/with all seem to be pretty great so far :)

I'm grateful it's a long weekend this weekend because yesterday was a pretty late night because of Fusion and I've got a friend's "mini concert" to go to tonight. So Sunday and Monday I'll hopefully be able to catch up on a little sleep and get most if not all of my homework done for the week. I've done pretty well at keeping on top of the homework situation so far.

I had forgotten how crazy it is to get out of the HPAC after University Forum but was quickly reminded on Thursday! I drove there from work because I had class right after on the opposite side of campus. I thought driving would be faster. It probably would have been if I had been able to back out when I started instead of letting the girl who didn't look go instead. I ended up waiting probably a good 5 minutes or so for a break between cars and people walking! But I made it to class on time so I guess that's all that matters.

Fusion last night was really good. I met up with a friend of mine, Ashley, and met a couple of her other friends. One of the Seminarian students spoke. I've met her a couple times before when I was here. She had a great talk on the love of God and threw in some great stories. She's graduating in May and I think wherever she ends up will be blessed.
While I was waiting for Ashley I was standing at the back of HPAC in the middle and eventually the lines to go in got so long they started to meet back where I was. I was looking to see if Ashley had arrived yet or if there was anyone else I knew when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned and there stood 3 guys. The one who had tapped me asked if I was in line. I said no that I was waiting for someone and the guy on the right asked if I was "sure you're not waiting for this guy?" pointing to his friend in the middle. I kinda laughed and then the first guy introduced himself as James and shook my hand. The guy in the middle stuck out his hand as well and said his name was Tyler. The 3rd guy just ran over and gave me a huge hug! I was taken by extreme surprise and wasn't sure what to do. When I recovered I asked him what his name was. He said it was James and that him and the other James were roommates and that they had the same last name then said he was joking... about the last name part. Tyler and James 1 started picking on him about how odd he was and stuff for hugging a complete stranger.
Tyler and I got talking a little bit and he asked if I worked in SS. I said yeah and he said he thought I looked familiar and remembered me from being in there the day before. Turns out he's going to be a math tutor and I was actually sitting in the office when he was filling out his paperwork stuff with Earling... I guess I had been too engrossed in the files I didn't really recognize him at Fusion.

Tonight I'm going to Jeong Min's "mini concert" up the road a ways. Her parents are here from Korea and one of our friends from Texas are all going to be here. She wasn't able to have her recital while they're all here so she's doing a little one for them and few friends that are in the area. She's having it at one of the professor's houses which is right up the road from here! It should be a fun night and I'll be able to see some people I haven't seen in nearly 3 years or so.
