Family Camp is now over and we are into Teen Camp. God has blessed us with astounding numbers yet again. I think we nearly double our numbers for Family Camp... we had over 120 and I think it might've even been closer to 140! We also have way more campers then we expected for Teen Camp. We have 72 and had to move beds out of the girls staff cabin so campers had beds! What a cool problem to have! The kids seem pretty cool other then some of the girls don't like their pictures being taken... oh the joys of teenagers. We have one little guy who is away from home for the first time and is SUPER homesick! A few of us tried talking to him before we finally got him to settle down a bit.
Last week was really nice. A lot more free time and a much more relaxed environment for most of the staff. Monday was probably my favorite day though! I worked on stuff all day and put in a lot of "office" time. All the staff was off after supper so we could go to fireworks or whatever we wanted to do. I asked Kirby if he'd be willing to take me and a few others out tubing so we spent a good hour and a half or so tubing. It was SO much fun!!! We had 2 tubes on one boat. There were 4 of us girls on the bigger tube and 3 guys on the smaller one. We played a little battle of the sexes and pushed each other around a little. Lots of fun! After that we docked at the ski dock and ran to change real quick. They brought the another boat out and John, Shawna, Anna, Ashley, Shaun, and I all went on that one and watched a pretty decent show of fireworks from the lake! I wish we could do it again cause it was so much fun! We had some munchies and swatted some bugs, chased some ducks, and laughed a LOT!
Tuesday was pretty nice and relaxing AFTER we stopped being bugged to work til a little after 11 (so not cool)! Lizzy, Roney, Anna, and I went to town for some lunch and a couple errands afterward. When we got back Anna and I started watching Mission Impossible 3 and laid on the sailing dock for a while at some point. The sun was really intense and I got a bit of a burn (which is a nice tan now). It was a nice break.
Tomorrow is Tuesday again YAY! And since it's teen camp everything is starting later... including staff meeting. I forgot about staff meeting earlier today and was looking forward to sleeping in until I wake up tomorrow (we don't have line call and don't have to go to breakfast on days off this week). Alas, I have to be up and to Polaris by 7 tomorrow morning. But after that, some breakfast, and a shower Joanna and I are heading out to the farmers market and I need to pick up a few things in town. I'm hoping to be back around lunch time cause Kirby said he'd probably be able to take me out and teach me how to wake-board or ski. Pretty much ALL the boat drivers tell me I HAVE to learn this summer since I've never done it before. I tried wake-boarding yesterday and it was an epic fail! I tried getting up 4 times but didn't make it any of those times. Maybe it'll work a little better with a different driver.
Anyways, I'm covered in a ton of bug-spray (that didn't work) and should probably wash some off before going to bed so I'm going to head that direction... stay tuned for a few pictures :)
