So I haven't blogged in over a month and I figured it was probably time...
I finished up first semester with a 3.47 GPA (I was sorta surprised by) and a bunch of new friends and a realization that maybe music isn't quite my thing (although I still love it).
I had a great Christmas/New Years break. I worked the first two days I was home and did a lot of relaxing after that. I went out with Matthew and had lunch and did some Christmas shopping with him, went out shopping with Karolline, went to a couple differnt parties New Years Eve and remarkably was still home in time to watch the ball drop. I played my Sax at church the first Sabbath I was home and accidently missed the entire sermon (oops). Mom said it was ok because it lasted about 10 minutes or last.
The ride home and back were both VERY interesting. We stopped at BMA going both ways and I stayed with Nanny both times. The way to BMA the first time we were caravaning with a guy named Jeremy who didn't come back this semester so he had his whole room in his car and another guy and his luggage for break. In our car, there were five of us including me. First I was in the front... I had stuff between my legs, on my lap, and sorta beside me, there was a long box in the console area which if the person in the middle in the back bumped it enough it would start knocking the car out of gear. The people in the back had stuff under their feet (person behind the driver couldn't put their feet on the floor at all), on their laps, stuff in the back window (including my sax which hit them in the back of the head twice), inbetween them and just about everywhere else too. And of course the trunk was STUFFED! We were driving along and all of a sudden Jeremy wasn't behind us any more so Bryan called and asked what was going on and started laughing and asked if he was serious. A couple minutes later we met Jeremy at the rest area where we saw what happened and Jeremy told us his version of the story. It went something like this: "I was just driving along and then all of a sudden the back of my head started feeling cold so I turned around just in time to see my back window fly off and crash about 5 feet behind me on the highway and then all my neck ties flew out and looked like streamers going all over the road!" It was SO funny (Jeremy was even laughing). So, Nuvia said that she had a bed sheet in the top of her suitcase and she got that out while the guys ran in to get duct tape. They stuffed the sheet into the trunk and back windows. They then attempted to tape the sheet on the roof and around the doors but the tape didn't stick very well to the material. But we started heading back out as Jeremy said he'd stop in about 10 minutes to see how it was working... not even two minutes later the sheet was flapping in the breeze like crazy... we ened up stopping and retucking it at least twice before we got off and found a WalMart where they got a clear tarp and better tape... we made it the rest of the way. (pictures to come soon)
Coming back here was also very interesting. We got a little misplaced on the way to BMA and added about a 1/2 hour or so onto our time.. I got to Nanny's house at 2:20 AM (we left around 6 and made a quick stop about an hour later). We left around 9 or 9:30 the next morning and got misplaced yet again... even before we got out of PA! We spent about 45 minutes on a bunch of back roads that went up and down all these mountains with turns so sharp they were pretty much U-turns! We later ran into rain and then snow... it took us 12 hours instead of 10 but we made it.
This semester I'm taking between 4 and 6 classes. I'm still not registered for a math class... part my fault part my advisor's fault. And I'm going to be auditing Wind Symphony. Other then that I'm in an English class, Religion Class, Advanced Photo one, and Basic Design.
Well, that's about it for now... I have a meeting in a 1/2 hour so I need to go get some supper and stuff.
