Let the Good Times Roll...?

I'm all moved in to my new house. Last night was my first night there. Karolline and Silvia both came over for a while. We put in a movie and they ate my food while I finished unpacking. I got everything out of the suitcases and most of the stuff I'd dumped on the floor the day before put away and was really wishing I had more room. I will eventually have a cabinet in the kitchen, a shelf in the fridge, hopefully some room in the freezer, a shelf in the bathroom closet, and a drawer under the sink. I'm not sure what I'd put in the drawer under the sink but whatever. The room in the kitchen will be nice. I have all my food stuff (that doesn't have to be in the fridge) in the bottom of my closet. Not a wonderful place for such things. My suitcases are under the bed... not sure how I'll get them out by myself since I had to lift the bed while Karolline shoved them under.

My room is nice. Has a wide, sliding door closet and THREE windows!!!!!!!! Ok, maybe a bit too excited about the windows but they are big and I've never had more then two in any room I've been in before. And I'm super excited because I can see the sunset out of them! The sunsets are AMAZING here!!! The carpet is light blue and Mom says that everything matches pretty well except for my dark green chair... but it really doesn't look that bad in there. I have a good size dresser and between that and the closet all my clothes fit comfortably :) I've got a small book shelf and another little end-table/bookshelf, my bed, the dresser, my chair, and a floor lamp in there, and I've got my tv on top of the dresser.

We are supposed to be getting internet tomorrow sometime :) We're getting DSL and if I want wireless I've got to get the router but she's paying for the internet every month so I guess it's not a bad deal if I want it. We will be getting basic cable sometime soon too I think. It's only $9 something a month for the very basic that we are getting. I'm hoping we get it soon enough that I can watch the rest of the Olympics in the comfort of my own room. Especially since I don't have keys to watch it the history room.

I have to admit I don't feel at home there yet. I love my room and being able to come and go as I please... not that I couldn't really do that this summer and I probably had better access to a car this summer. But it doesn't feel like MY home yet. I'll also say that I had a pretty odd feeling WALKING to the academy from the VERY end of faculty row this morning.

My duties this year will include but are not limited to:
1. Working in the office with Andrew
2. Working in the cafe a couple nights a week and every 3rd weekend
3. Weekend supervision with Mr. Raymond every 4th weekend
4. Yearbook sponsor
5. SA sponsor
6. Some possible assistant dean filling in until the really one shows up (she IS coming)
7. Possibly supervising 2 student workers and helping them with the school newspaper
8. Having a few students to advise and be in my faculty family
Oh yeah, and did I mention I'm taking 2 classes this year as well?

Hopefully I'll be able to figure out some way to get some pictures of my new place to post soon.
