Earning My Keep

Last night I made a remark that went along the lines of "I hope I'm not not earning my keep and overstaying my welcome" to which I was reassured that I was not (yet anyways). This exchange came shortly after my taking a shower and getting ready for bed not realizing that there was going to be some work going on in the garage! So, Andrew and I agreed that he'd leave me a list of things to do around the house today since I was off and we have company coming tomorrow night.

I got up this morning and helped Kim with chores and realized Andrew hadn't left me a list. So I told Kim and said that if there was anything she wanted me to get done to let me know. She told me it'd be good if I could clean the bathroom. Once she left for work I got some breakfast and texted Andrew about the missing list. So he told me I could pick up the living room and kitchen area and text him whenever I was done with that. So, I picked up my corner, cleaned off the table, cleaned up the pile of mail and papers on the floor, swept about a billion times, took all the shoes off the rug, shook the shoe rug, reorganized the shoes, did a couple loads of dishes, and cleaned the end table next to the door!

After another text messaging exchange I was busy cleaning the bathroom. I got everything cleaned in there except the window and mirror! I even got the floor swept and mopped and the tub scrubbed inside AND out!

Then I took a lunch break and had a lovely little chat with Adrianna :) and talked a couple minutes with my mom. Then it was off to work again! This time I swept the mud room as best as I could and got all the cobwebs I could out of the ceiling in there. Then I got some out of the family room downstairs, the office, the bathroom, the living room, and the kitchen.

After that I think Andrew was starting to run out of things for me to do... But I ended up weeding down in front of the downstairs door, clipped off a bunch of huge weeds, swept it all, and then moved some more of the stuff around/off and swept some more... still didn't get all the dirt out of there but it looks better then it did! Then I swept the porch and straighten it up a bit... put the cushions back on the chair and love-seat out there, picked up the shoes, and moved a few other things around.

I was going to go out and clean up the isle in the barn but Andrew told me I should probably wait on that. So I took a little break until he got home with stuff to make supper and now I'm making veggie meatballs (the kind Auntie makes) for the first time. I'm hoping they turn out like Auntie's do! I can't wait! Kim and I have been wanting meatballs for like 5 days! We talked about doing a half a batch but ended up doing a full one so we can freeze the leftovers... if there are any ;)
