Work as of Late

This week, like many others, I had to work at the mall on Sunday (yes July 4th). It was a miserable work day... super slow and lousy tips. And it didn't get much better yesterday. I got home to do chores and those went HORRIBLY too. Ivy stepped on my toes, Teddy got into the horse pasture and when I tried to put him back the cows wouldn't let him in and Joe got out (I gave them timeout in their old stall with no food or water til I was done with chores... it wasn't real long), Lilly stepped in the milk pail, the babies couldn't figure out how to eat at the same time so we got milk EVERYWHERE and switched bottles between babies I don't know how many times, and then once I got inside to filter and pasturize milk the filter fell part way through so I had to start all over and when I went to dump it back in I managed to dump milk all over the sink/counter and floor and me. It was lovely.

Yesterday wasn't much better for work. I was downtown and most of the other businesses down there were closed. I had about 10 customers in 5 hours which made for a VERY slow day! I closed up and was out of there about 15 minutes after closing time!

Today I got in there and could tell right away the girl I was relieving was upset about something. (Last time I closed before she opened she left me a note of 3 things I forgot to do so when I closed last night those were the 3 things I did first) I tried to stay out of her way since she looked like she was in a hurry and was huffing and puffing about stuff. She asked me what we got for a milk order yesterday and when I told her nothing she huffed and puffed some more. Before she left she made sure to tell me I didn't have out enough bagels, I didn't tell her dad everything we needed including another 5Ilb bag of coffee (which I didn't even know we needed since I didn't get into that cupboard at all last night), a couple other things we were low on that I hadn't told him about, and a few other things. Then she said that it wasn't just me all the other girls are slacking too and that were all going to have a big meeting once the other store is about ready to open to go over all of it! I felt like crying but let her rant and yell at me. She finally huffed that she was leaving and I couldn't have been more relieved.
The next couple hours seemed to go by pretty fast, I swept and spot mopped and restocked some stuff... making sure there were PLENTY of bagels out! Then in came a guy who got an iced coffee, sat down, and started working on his computer. A little while later a lady and another guy came in and the lady was bonkers! She was SO hyper and jabbered as fast as she could about anything and everything. They were there a good 30-45 minutes and she didn't shut up the WHOLE TIME!!! Oh, and she asked for an application... which I gave her :P
Shortly after they left Mr. Repeats came in with a "special" lady. He got a medium coffee and she got a bottle of water. I asked if they were paying together and the lady said yes. I told them the total was $3.11 and he pulled out a dollar and told me he had some change. He dug around for the change and then held his hand out for me to pick out the right amount. I told him I got the $.11 but I'd still need 2 more dollars. He didn't seem to comprehend so I asked him if he had $2 more. He said he didn't think so, got out both of his change purses and started going through one of them. The lady said she'd help him look and they both came to the conclusion that he didn't have anymore money. They just kinda stood there looking at me and then back at the purses. I told them I'd just take it out of my tip jar. She said a super fast thanks and dashed out the door while Mr. Repeats stayed for another 5-10 minutes repeating himself the whole time.
After he left the guy at the computer told me "you get some pretty... uh... well, interesting people through here huh?" I said "I sure do... the best Auburn has to offer" He also knew the crazy girl that had come in and he told me he probably wouldn't hire her. He said she was a pretty nice girl and he didn't think she'd steal from us and she'd PROBABLY show up to work everyday but he didn't think he'd hire her.

Oh the joys of the job... :P I'm glad to be home for the night and can't wait til Friday noon!
